About the New School of Thought Institute
We recognize students for who they are. We celebrate them for who they might become. We equip them with the skill-set to go boldly in the direction of their dreams and we ground them in the reality of what it will take to get there. If you share our burning desire to better understand student-centered learning, the New School of Thought Institute is for you.
WHEN?
Saturday, May 22
WHO?
The institute is hosted by educators from Avenues: The World School in our campuses in São Paulo, New York, Shenzhen and Online, and designed for N-12 public and private school teachers, school leaders, media and technology specialists, and anyone else who is interested in developing a deeper understanding of student-centered learning.
WHAT?
Our virtual conference session is designed to showcase how great educators go about putting students at the center of dynamic learning spaces—both online and on campus—engaging them in work that has purpose, integrity, and impact, and will provide participants with an opportunity to examine ways to put this into practice.
Program
This year’s Virtual Conference will take place through a variety of Zoom workshops and seminars. Following a keynote from Anne Baldisseri, Head of Primary Division at Avenues São Paulo, Tim Carr, Head of School at Avenues Online, and David Palumbo, senior advisor to Avenues's Research and Development team, that will address some of the academic innovations and opportunities that have emerged in the past year, we will offer a series of sessions across a range of topics and themes. Participants might choose from a variety of options, or follow a particular strand throughout the day.
This year’s themes will include Academic Innovation, Successes in Online Learning, Language Learning and Literacy, Project-Based Learning, Mathematics and Problem-Based Learning, Social-Emotional Learning, and Social Innovation and Diversity, Equity and Inclusion.
Sessions will be offered in a mix of both English and Portuguese.
The conference will be free and open to all educators around the world through Zoom. Check the schedule and register below.
